GRATITUDE CULTIVATION PROJECT AT KUALA GANDAH NATIONAL ELEPHANT CONSERVATION CENTRE
UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG, April 7, 2017- On April 1, 2017, 26 members of the UMP Peer Counsellors Club or Kelab Pembimbing Rakan Siswa (PERSIS) successfully organized a motivational program at Sekolah Kebangsaan Paya Pulai, Temerloh Pahang. The half-day motivational program started at 9.00 a.m. and ended at 2.00 p.m. at the school.
The program was aimed at motivating the year six pupils who would be siting for the Primary School Achievement Test or Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) soon. Many activities were conducted and various methods were introduced to the pupils in order to keep them well informed and prepared for the challenges in the UPSR.
During the program, PERSIS UMP club members also took the opportunity to spend some time bonding and connecting with the pupils at the school. In addition, the pupils were taught the correct learning techniques with the hope that his would help to increase the pupils’ motivation as well as self-confidence through daily interactions.
Madam Paridah binti Mohd Ali, UMP Senior Psychologist, was also present to ensure successful organization of the program with the cooperation of some teachers from the school. PERSIS UMP hopes that such program will be organized again in the future for pupils who will sit for major exams such as the UPSR, Form 3 Assessment or Penilaian Tingkatan 3 (PT3) and the Malaysian Certificate of Education or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
